Ovarian Cysts Symptoms That Can't Be Ignored


Each month, a follicle is form during our body normal menstrual cycle. Follicle is the cystic structure which produces estrogen and progesterone to stimulate the release of an egg from the ovary during the menstrual cycle.  In some instances, the follicle will continue to grow and becomes an ovarian cyst.

Having cysts on the ovaries is a common gynecological problem that can affect any woman at any stage of life. As the ovarian cysts symptoms are not always apparent, they are difficult to diagnose at times.  Therefore, it is vital to understand complex cyst on ovary symptoms, as the earlier you discover the condition, the higher your changes of recovery. To accurately diagnose cysts on ovaries, you need to be well versed with the symptoms of the following conditions:

1.    Irregular menstruation: Irregular menstruation signals the fact that all is not well with your gynecological health. Women suffering from ovarian cysts may suffer from amenorrhea, heavy bleeding, light bleeding etc. hence, any menstrual irregularity or abnormality should be checked out immediately.

2.    Pelvic pain: Cysts on the ovaries can cause severe pelvic pain before during and after menstruation. Many women suffering from ovarian cyst also experience pain during sexual intercourse.

3.    Bladder related problem: Cysts may put pressure on the bladder. This can lead to difficulty in emptying the bladder. Women also experience frequent urge to urinate. However, sometimes, emptying the bladder can also prove to be a difficult ordeal.

4.    Infertility: Many women approach a gynecologist, when they fail to conceive. Cyst on ovary may cause infertility. Sometimes, miscarriages are also possible because of some complications associated with ovarian cysts.

5.    Physical problems: Complex cyst on ovary may cause nausea, breathlessness, pain, vomiting, unexplained weight gain and general discomfort. Sometimes, pregnancy like symptoms is also common. Any prolonged pain or discomfort should be checked out immediately.

6.    Bloated feeling and noticeable increase of body hair

Some symptoms experienced by women may not be necessarily associated with complex cyst on ovary and hence, they may be ignored. Therefore, when one is experiencing the symptoms of ovarian cyst, it is best that she diagnose the condition only with the help of an expert. She need to either undergo sonogram, ultrasounds, IVP, cystoscopy or CT scans to confirm its appearance. Sometimes, a few tests might be needed.
